Senior Sales Engineer

Job description


This is a remote role in the United States of America.


The Presales Engineer is part of the regional sales team who collaborates with the Account Manager to create, develop and expand sales opportunities for the full suite of EclecticIQ's product portfolio. The Presales Engineer "owns" all technical aspects of the product portfolio within each opportunity through all phases of the sales lifecycle (Discover, Evaluate, Buy).

The Presales Engineer establishes rapport and builds trust with prospects early in the sales cycle and works collaboratively with prospects, partners, and the Account Manager to advance the opportunity through all phases of the sales cycle to a successful "closed, won" status.

Activities include performing technical due diligence to ensure a match between prospects' requirements and product capabilities, along with prospect expectations. Other duties include performing demonstrations, orchestrating and managing proof of concepts/proof of value,

responding to RFPs, RFQ's, and RFI's, attending tradeshows, and advocating on prospect and customers' behalf by providing structured feedback to internal teams (e.g., Product Management and Marketing) to improve the overall experience with our product as well as our people. 

The Presales Engineer reports to the Vice President of Presales & Customer Success.


Responsibilities

  • Support the success of an assigned team of salespeople, including Account Managers and Business Development;
  • Meet assigned targets for profitable sales growth, such as number of successful Demo's and PoC's, in assigned product lines;
  • Provide coaching and professional development to team-members in Sales and Solutions in order to enhance their product knowledge and sales skills;
  • Assist in demand-generating marketing activities in the assigned market for the assigned product specialty;
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts;
  • Coordinate the customer involvement of other company personnel when needed, including support resources, team members, and management.
  • Build out virtual labs to experiment, test and “play” to generate new ideas for demo & POC/PoV scenarios;
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Sales, CSM, Threat Research, Product, Management and Engineering teams across the company.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution;
  • 5 to 7 years of documented success selling hardware, software and/or services to Fortune 500 & FTSE 100 companies across a range of industries and verticals (e.g., financial, health care, manufacturing, state & local, governments, etc.) in B2B, B2C, B2P contexts;
  • Maintained & up-to-date domain expertise around cyber, cyber technologies, information security, working practices as well as EDR/XDR solutions;
  • Technical credentials in Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) or related fields (e.g., CTIA, CERT, CSIRT, GIAC, CEH) are a plus;
  • Naturally inquisitive, active listeners with a history of formal and self-education along with a consultative/collaborative service-based orientation that can work well alone and in groups;
  • Ability and willingness to domestically travel as well as between EclecticIQ offices.
